I am trying to get to the inside of the driver's side door and I can't get the panel off. The spring for the door latch is broken and I need to replace it and don't want to have to pay the dealer an arm and a leg to do it. Can anyone tell me if they have had the same problem. Thanks.

Check in the projects section. I believe there is help there. I would get that cheep tool from any auto store to help with the clips that hold the panel. I think you will find it with something like speaker replacement.

Pay close attention to the door lock when re-installing the panel. I was in a rush and slightly bent mine when re-installing the driver's panel.

This is why I love this site. You can always depend on getting reliable help when attempting a project. And not get flamed for asking questions.

From memory, First, remove the controls for the locks, etc by lifting up and disconnecting the wiring (push tabs), then use a butter knife or somethign to pry the cover off the door handle, and I beleive there is a screw at the handle, 2 or 3 along the bottom, and thats about it... All you gotta do after that is grab the lower bottom corners and yank the plastic retainer clips out, if they get stuck in the door, just take em out and slide em back into place before putting it back on. To put back on make sure the knob of the door lock is in place, and the handle for the door opener is sitting outside the opening, install the top along the plastic/rubber rail at the window, and push all the retaining clips on, replace the screws and window buttons and handle cover and yer done. Shouldn't take more than 15 mins if that.
