As many of you know, I really like Escorts. They run great, last forever, and take a beating. I actually own two of them. a 1992 and a 1996. The 1992 is for the tranny and other minor things before it goes to the junk yard. The 1996 is a project car. Hopefully this summer, it will get the transformation to 300 HP.

Here is one I stumbled across on ebay. Talk about crazy.

All i wonder is what that person was thinking running around with super glue and 8 million pennies? That has to weigh down the little 75hp engine...

Be worth a bunch of money if you melted it down for the copper. Which is a crime BTW, not that I'm advocating that.

The ad says it used "goop" as the adhesive.

I have found super glue to be rather worthless at anything other than sticky my fingers together (btw, that was its original intent of the inventor, a quick alternative to stitches).

That car is only worth maybe a grand in perfect condition - and the brakes need service? I don't think 300 odd dollars of pennies makes up for it.

To coin a phrase...oh, never mind.

Brasso is good $h!t, Hooah.

I wouldn't reccommend anyone do it, but Krazy Glue is good for emergency, field expidient stitches. I put my pinky back together with it once, and it barely left a scar. All those new liquid bandages on the market are similar.

Penny guy needs a woman. Then he'll have no pennies, and no time.

If I were this guy's neighbor, I'd run over there with a gallon of acetone one night...

All I can think of is the heat shield tiles of the space shuttle and how a few flip off on reentry.

That's no problem with a POS Ford Escort though, you can't get that little rubber-band motor inside wound tight enough to go fast enough to have a penny fly off that thing.

Talk about starving for attention. Pretty sad.

Hopefully someone will give him $300-$500 for it out of pity, and he can turn that around as a down payment on therapy sessions.

Hmmm....Well, I guess how you choose to find female companionship is your own business....

Although I must say that I don't condone the statements that followed that...

I would agree with it.

A guy in our fraternity has an Escort Wagon, and HOLY CRAP. Even the guys that hate Ford are impressed with that car. They have so far run it into about a hundred things, flipped it over into a creek where it stayed for a couple days until they got it out. Ran it through a river, took it off-roading, have done about everything to the car, and it still runs with no problems except a couple broken belts it got recently.

In a twist of severe irony, and man, this had me stunned it was just so damned ironic, the owner of the Escort bought a Focus, but still had the Escort.

Another one of our guys who has two Toyota's that have given him more trouble than any vehicles I have ever seen, yet still goes on an on about Toyota, drove said Escort for two weeks until he at least got his Toyota truck fixed so he could drive it again.

Oh the irony, sweet delicious irony.
