How much weight can I carry?

How much weight can I put in the bed of my 2004 Sport Trac 4X4 safely? I don't want to know how much you put in I want to know what the book says about how much weight I can carry in the back of the pickup safely. Thanks in advance!

I think the Ford specified weight limit is 1500 pounds for your vehicle.
