how to determine axle to gear ratio

how do we determine the axle to gear ratio? is it posted on the driver's door? i didnt see any.

The code is on the drivers side door, just don't have access to my workshop manuals right now. There is another way; if you have 235/70/16 OEM tires you have 3:73 rear end, and if you have 255/70/16 OEM tires you have 4:10 rear end gear ratio.

46 — 3.73 non-limited slip

42 — 4.10 non-limited slip

D4 — 3.73 limited slip

D2 — 4.10 limited slip

i saw a D2...so i guess i have a 4:10 ratio.



i suppose my St can handle a 265/75/R16 tire right?
