Finally got all the pieces and parts to put the new head unit in but need some advice on how to get the dash apart. I did a search for typical terms and didn't come up with anything in depth for the gen. 2. If you could give me some pointers and pitfalls to avoid I'd greatly appreciate it. Pics are always worthwhile. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but am paranoid about breaking off a hidden clip or tab or doing something to screw things up.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I've pulled mine a couple times. Took me a while to figure it out, but I got it. I just pulled mine out to clean the interface connections(wasn't loading cd's) I have an '07 Limited and not 100% on other interiors but in mine, there are two (2) hex head screws under the console/ armrest. Lift the lid, pull the screws and then I lifted the shifter surround (It helps to pull the shifter into 1st gear to give you more room to pull the surround) Then the real, imitation carbon fiber face, these just take a little bit to pull off. The head unit is held in by 4 hex screws, 5/16" I believe. After the unit install the plastic just snaps back in place. Then the last two screws in the console.

Hope this is what you were asking, I don't have pics tho, sorry.

Bump for pics if possible...

So its just the screws in the console then a little wiggling and prying? That almost seems too easy.

I have a pile of wiring and external modules (sirius x2, steering wheel interface, HD radio, etc) that I hope there's room for back there.

Thanks again

Steve
