No, but it puts more torque to the ground. What you gain in the bottom end, you lose in the upper end. So if you are racing a 1/4 mile track, you want smething in the lower upper in gears to get high trap speeds. If you race an 1/8 mile track, than you want low gears to get out of the hole faster and you don't see that high of top speeds.

Since your lifted i guess you want the gears for off road..... Going up 1 gear in your st with your tire size will be like going back to stock tires....

I already have 410's in the ST and it runs and pulls real good! I am working on building a car in a few months or so and I saw an artical on this mustang that was in near stock configuration and was pushing over 400 hp but was running 410 gears. I didn't think that gears would change hp but had to ask. I am looking for the 450 range so I am thinking a 4.6 with a blower from Edelbrock. Thanks Guys!
