OK, my new wheels/tires/TPMS are here(in boxes). Should I keep the 20" wheels(slightly pitted from the salt air here on the shore) and put Blizzak's on them for the winter season(274/45-20) Or sell them and keep my stock 18" Alum. Limited wheels with the blizzak's on them(236/65-18) OK, What would you do? Bob

I put Blizzak's on my original 18" rims and moved the TPMs to my new wheels with Michelins.

I travel less than 20 miles most days and the stack of my summer tires (with the TPMs) reset the truck monitor each night. If I pass the 20 or so miles my low tire alert goes off and I press the reset. The rest of the day each time I start the Sport Trac the warning goes off and I re-press the reset and put up with the warning icon on the dash.

To me it was worth not paying for the extra set of TPMs but worth having a set of real winter tires to use here in Indiana. Granted it was once again a mild winter, but all it takes is a 8" snowfall and it will be worth it!

Good luck on your decision!

I did the same thing here in new hampshire. I bought a stock set of 18 inch wheels from rebelford put 235/65/18 snows on them with no tpms. Kept my stock 20 inch original with the sensors. I have to hit the reset button but it doesnt bother me. Good luck

Is it possible to put the TPMS inside the spare and still activate the computer properly?

This is what is coming off:

I have the stock 18" wheels with Blizzaks on them already. And TPMS sensors and bands on all wheels(the new ones will have thier own set as well. So its just swap tires, reset the sensors. Am trying to decide if it would look "cooler" to have the 20" chrome on for the winter since they are starting to pit. Thats it. Bob

Jupton3,

Is it possible to put all four sensors in one tire Les?

Yes, that's where I was going with my question. Could you put all the TPMs in the spare and would it read properly? I know you can put 4 tires with TPMs in the bed and it will still work.
