LaRue,
I have driven on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Kentucky several times...often going to the Louisville National Sport Trac meet...
For beautiful scenery, the BRP is hard to beet. My only complaint was with the gas stations along the route. They seem to be all Mom & Pop owned, no brand name stations? I am used to seeing Shell, Exxon, Chevron, Valero, stations, etc. What I see on the BRP is brands I have never heard of...and I grew up in Ohio and traveled all over the US, but never heard of most of the stations they have along the BRP. My solution is to schedule a gas stop just before I get to Kentucky.
In the Louisville, KY area, you can find a lot of name brand gas along with a few odd stations, but at least you have a choice....BRP does not give you any choice when you need gas, and you don't know what your are getting. I'm sure it's OK gas, it's just I have been taught to avoid no-name, Mom & Pop gas stations since they don't sell as much gas, they are more likely to have stale gas or gas contaminated with water/condensation from the tank being half full for so long.
