I'm shipping the wife and kids north for a month so my sons can attend camp and I can do all those home improvement projects(pool table) I have been putting off. I would like to get a webcam setup so that I can keep in touch with the little guys nightly. Both houses have DSL. I have never used one before, so any suggestions would be helpful-thanks!

They are very easy to use. You can use it with yahoo instant messenger. I have a logitech cam but hardly ever use it. Its like 7 years old. I remember when I purchased it was around $99. They should be very well cheap now-a-days. When you buy one, they more than likely will hook up using USB cord, which comes with the webcam kit. Also a head set with mic and ear piece.

Yep! Like shvdnlayd said. I set my brother up so he can talk with his kids while he is in Iraq. The cameras are from $29 and up. IMO you don't need anything too special.

Two suggestions:

1) get two of the same cameras to make setup easier

2) use Skype for the connection, it is free and works well
