I already have an 8" kicker L5 in my Sport trac i was wondering of any ideas of making my system better

remember that no matter how good yor speakers you're stereo is only as good as your amps. I personally have alpine type-r spr57ls components in the front and alpine tupe-r apr57lps coaxials in the back, I love them. I was thoroughly impressed from day one and continue to be anytime i listen to me stereo. I would recommend getting them from www.indoaudio.com. If he doesnt have them advertised he can still get them. The guy that runs the place is John Hearn.

Where is your Kicker S8L5 mounted? what kind of box?

I just finished my system... My speakers sound amazing and the bass is good, i just need to do a bit more tweaking or perhaps add a multiband eq to clean up the crossover points.

Here's what I have:

Alpine IVA-D300 Touch screen double DIN monitor/head unit

Alpine TME-580 6.5" screen installed in the passenger visor

Pioneer 6.5" overhead monitor for the rear passengers

MTX MXA6004 4-channel Amplier

MTX MXA8001 Mono Block Sub Amplifier

Infinity Perfect 6.1 6.5" Component Speakers in front doors

Infinity Kappa 6x8" Coaxial Speakers in rear doors

Kicker Solobaric S8L7 2Ohms DVC - 2 of them loaded in a custom down firing box under the rear seats

Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Capacitor w/digital monitor

I am using 1-0 AWG power cable fused in 3 places and distributed into 4 AWG.

The WHOLE interior is covered in B-Quiet Xtreme Sound Deadener Material.. I covered every inch of the doors, floor, backwall and roof.

The sound levels and quality are amazing.. There is absolutely no road noise from my knobby tires anymore and my usual listening volume level on the deck used to be 18/35 on the volume dial and now it is down to 12/35 after the sound dampener install... and i even lowered my gains. :D

My first impression of the Kicker S8L7's is that they are LOUD! Just as advertised... but I do have to say the sound quality compared to my JL Audio subs doesn't come close.. the JL's are smooth.. but then again the box I made for the JL's was perfect in every way.. Jason... You're gonna love it once you get the box, subs and amp! The Kickers i have are loud.. but the JL's are smooth, accurate and hit deep.

Hey Dallas,

I don't have any pics of it yet, I will take some in the next few days tho.. I still need to build 1 more trim panel for the amplifers.

I have my old setup sold to Jason (he's picking it up in next Sunday). He's a member too. I sold the custom box, the two JL Audio 8w0's, an Alpine MRV1005 amp, the amp trim panel and new grey vinyl to cover it all for 500 cad.

I have my box under my back seat. I am thinking bout getting 2 L7's and a 800 or 900 watt amp and a alpine deck that connects to my 6 cd changer
