My daughter and I took photos at Ameryka, Poland a couple of months ago. It is a small village of just a few houses, but it did make us feel a little closer to home. :)

Pretty close in spelling. Is it pronounced the same?

I got stranded in Germany a few years ago and ended up staying in a town that had the same sounding name as my home town, spelled a bit different though...

You know it only looks like a backwards "R". It is actually the Cyrillic letter, pronounced as "Ya". In Russian and some other Slavic languages, this letter is used as their word for the English word, "I". The Polish spell it in their alphabet as, "Ja".
