Installations thru 3rd Brake Light (XM/GPS)

Folks,



I am trying, unsuccessfully, to find a thread or multiple threads that show installations of XM/GPS antenna where the wire goes in through the 3rd brake light fixture. I need to finally finish my GPS hard install, and this is the first step - routing the wiring. Thanks!

Adam, if you have access to a dremel, just dremel out a little notch in the middle of the plastic housing (some prefer bottom to avoid leaks, I went through the top and have had no problems) and just keep dremeling a little bit at a time til you get a snug fit.

I ran mine out the top of the 3rd brake light and sealed it up with some clear silicon.

I didn't use a dremel or silicone, and didn't have a leak in two years. I almost always ran my truck through the high pressure washes when it needed cleaned and never had a leak.
