Has anyone ever replaced a light on the instrument cluster. I noticed today that I have a light out that lights up the right side of the speedometer. It's a gen I Trac, also does anyone know the part number for the bulb?
As you will find out as you take the bezel out to get at the bulbs, it is a pain in the rear and a lot of grief to go through, just to replace those silly bulbs. Hint: Replace all of them while you have it out. Too much trouble to only replace the one burned out bulb only to have a different one go out soon after replacing the one bad one.
I second that advice on changing out all the bulbs if you take on the task. Had two burnt out on mine and followed the link to change them out. Good instructions and replaced all of them at once. It takes a little time and patience, but take your time and you'll be able to get it done. Good luck
I just replaced mine about 3 months ago. Had one burn out behind the RPM guage, then one behind the fuel guage. I took mine sweet time and was able to access the back of the guage cluster with out removing it. The bulbs are a bit of a pain to get out when turning them. Just be careful not to damage the wafer screen and when pulling the guage cluster not to sretch and snap the park shifting cable. I was Sylvania LL bulbs. They are brighter than the factory bulbs as I'm not a fan of LED's. While I was at it, I replaced the bulb in the head light switch as well.
Just give yourself plenty of time maybe 2 hours. And yes replace them all.
