You can't purchase an iPhone without activation. Cingular(the New AT&T) is the only carrier that sells them and they require activation upon purchase. If you know something different then let me know and maybe I can help.

You have to activate them via iTunes on your home computer. They do not activate them at the stores. I have one and it only took 30 seconds to activate and everything. I think it is worth it, I use ALL of the functions on my iPhone. The only thing it doesn't have is the camcorder video option, but it does take good pics.

As far as I know Bootsy is correct... Activate at home, not at the store, so if anyone can help that'd be great...

XST, regardless where you activate the only carrier is Cingular/AT&T. Will that work for you in the Great White North?
