Gypsy's trac is now rolling in PA. My daughter and I and her friend left Az on Oct 31, My dad was not doing well and so we headed down towards Houston, Tx Nov 1 at around 7:30 am TX tm, I was sitting in traffic...in where else? ...Fort Worth! (some of you will recall what that is like there) 5 hrs later (would have been 3.5 hrs) was at my Dad's place. We left at 1 pm next day, Nov 2. Arrived in PA Nov 3, around 2pm. My dad passed on November 4. Thankfully he knew I had been there to see him and he passed quietly in his sleep. I don't want to get anyone down, it's ok, he is in a better place now,

I will tell ya about my trac and handling.

The trac rolled pretty well on this trip with extra weight and even a canvas roof luggage port. As most of you know my trac is still pretty much stock, and again I get GREAT gas milege in this ST. The ride was smooth and not too much by way of weather the whole trip.

My route took me of course across Northern AZ, NM, TX, AR, TN, KY, Oh and on into Western PA.

I never got lost the whole trip, until I got to where I needed to be, and then I was only 1/8 of a mile away.

PS: my daughter took her driving test in my Trac, Oct 24, passed with 100 % !

GM, sorry to hear about your dad, our prayers are with you.

On a lighter note I was talking to my dad the other day. He is 82 and said, he dont plan on dieing..

GM,

It looks like you live close to the Ohio border. If you need anything, let me know. I live about 1 1/2 hours away from you. i.e. need a tune up done, sway bar install, if you get the big to buy something from Zaptek, etc. Please let me know. I am in Akron.

Fast Eddie thank you too for your kind words, You dad is probably not going to for a long time! lol I bet he is full of spit and vinegar! and that is GOOD!

My dad was 67, had lung cancer, and refused all treatment. Said he would go when it was his time and that was that. :)

I know most would be in a very sad morning state, if it were their dad, and I am..but I celebrate death because people that die and in my Dad's case, are in a better place, not suffering or in pain. It's just how I handle death.

Caymen/Tom, yes very close to Ohio border. I went right thru Akron coming here :) and thanks for the offer! :)

My condolences to you and your family as well...

Made a similar trip thru that region this summer. Smoked my brakes crossing from AZ into NM, not in the ST, truck was a little bigger - a semi.

Went thru Dallas/Fort Worth in a pouring thunderstorm during rush hour, talk about the sphincter factor being high.:lol:

Taking joy in the journey leaves fond memories to recollect.:)

GM, your right it is sad and hard on family and freinds. We should celebrate the life of our loved ones. There are many cultures out there that are more advanced than we are in that area. Sometimes I wonder if the American funeral bussiness is the one that tied that stigmatism to it. I dont mean any injustice to those that are greiving a loss.

Remembering the goodness in someone I think helps to keep them alive in our hearts. As a teen I used to spend summers with my grandparents on their farms. Those thoughts and moments is what has always kept a joy in my heart for them.

Welcome to Pa. I'm located in Punxsutawney, Pa. (about 25 min south of I-80) Glad to hear the trip was good and my condolences on the passing of your father. Luckily you were there to see him off to the happy hunting ground.

Sympathies to you and your family.

I'm in western PA also, about 25 miles north of Pittsburgh.

My son also took his driver's test earlier this year in my Trac.

Glad you had a safe trip and our condolences on the passing of your father.

We'll miss seeing your trac running around town. Of course, I always tried to hide because your truck is ALWAYS so dang clean and mine was...well...lets say...less clean than yours.

kewl GM just in time to freeze you as* off...LOL. I'm kidding. Good luck with the new residence and your trip out to PA. Sorry, about your Dad passing away.

Thank you all for your very kinds words. :) As always I feel so at home here on this site :)

10-4 Deryck, know what ya mean :)

stonemiser, johnnyO, Thanks and maybe I'll venture out and around your towns ...but if this white stuff coming out of the sky today, gets more serious, that probably will not be until late Spring!! LOL

Kimbros, lol you never saw it just before leaving Kingman, had no time at all to wash let alone wax him! It has been driving me nuts! I sent you guys an email before, .where did you go, went by your house, seen the sign, still have that hair tie in my trac (unused of course!) Don't let the Kimbros fool ya ...she keeps a clean trac and he keeps it running tip top too! :)

SST, good luck to you too on that house thingy and I guess eventually, you and family will be in AZ... I think you planned it that way! ha ha, thanks :)

Rich, thanks and yes we are all doing ok, my Texas family told me to not worry about coming back for funeral as coming to see my dad was his highlight. I was glad I was able to bring Rhiannon with me and he got to see her too before he left. :)

You certainly haven't seen my boy lately. I'm ashamed to say it's been almost 3 months since he's even had a bath. We bought a house, downtown...gotta love those trains!! My boy became a hell-of-a work horse helping us move. He was great.

Guess, at this point you might as well wash and use that hair tie.

GM,

I'm glad the "good-bye" to your dad worked out.

I hope your move brings great things into your life!

GM,

When springtime comes, go to the Pymatuning spillway. Watch the birds walk on the fish.
