I've Been Propositioned

A buddy of mine is looking for a set of used tires for his wife's truck before they go overseas. He saw the tires on my truck and asked me if I would sell them to him for $200 cash. My Revos (265/70R16) have nearly 40K miles on them and are slightly cupped. They are still in good condition otherwise, and I paid only $500 out the door when they were new.



I'm considering this, since I would like to get some newer tires by the end of the summer. I don't like to drive tires until they are bald. I figure they have 20K miles left before I'll have to replace them. All of this considered, do you think I should jump on this deal?

I told him about the cupping. I guess he just wants to put some inexpensive rubber on the truck. They will be on an island for two years. The island is only 11 X 7 miles, so they could probably drive on these for the entire two years.

Been to the Azores several times. Not a bad place to be stationed...unless you're a single guy. Great street bull fights!

I was single during my 27 months there. I actually loved it enough to cancel my follow-on to Hawaii and stay an extra year. I had a beautiful place in Porto Martins, two blocks from the beach, and paid $300/mo, including utilities. Those Portuguese ladies were beautiful too. Ahh...paradise. I miss that place, and you're right, those street bull fights were fun to watch.
