I am trying to find the jack, and needed rods for lowering the tire for a 2005 ST. The dealership of course wants my first born child for one. If anyone knows where I can pick one up for a decent price let me know. Does Autozone, Pep Boys, or Advanced carry these with the lowering rods? Thanks.

Some one took the stuff out of the truck ????

A junk yard would be the best bet..

You could have mine for free but getting them is another story, I live in Pa.. I agree with Todd Z, Go to the junkyard and they'll more then likely give one to you for free or maybe $5-10 tops. Since I lifted mine and can't use the tire carrier anymore I removed the tire carrier and, jack and rods and they're siiting in my basement in a box. junkyard is your best bet.;)

Not sure, bought the truck used and didn't check for like an idiot. Dealership said it was bought as is so they are not responsible for it. I will check the yard, thanks for the tip. Jerry, if I am unable to find one I might pay to have it shipped. Standard ground should only be around $30 or $40 depending on the weight. Would you be interested in doing that if need be?

The jack and bracket should fit in a Large Flat rate box.... $12.95 to ship....

The pols can go in a USPS tube for about $6.00

I bought a 4ton hyd-bottle jack. $9 @ harbor freight. I dont like factory jacks. Buy a piece of 5/6" round bar. Flaten one end and shape the other like a crank. That will drop the spare.

Bought a Hyd-sissor jack for ex-wifes escape.

When I had my 3/4ton dodge van. I carried a floor jack in the back.

I think, I would call road service before, I ever use a factory jack.

My LeSabre scissor stock jack actually bowed and dropped the car, so I can understand where you're coming from. Also, the rod for it had a socket on the end for the lug nuts, and instead of being welded perpendicular to the rod (like any jack should be),it was free to pivot, which means that it takes more work to get the stupid nuts off, and more importantly, that nuts will round off and break...as I found out the hard way.

That said, I've used my ST jack several times to lift the front...with jackstands immediately inserted, since I don't trust the head of the floor jack to stay on that curved piece of metal on the frame for jacking, same with my bottle jack...a flat head against a curved piece of metal just sounds bad IMO.

Though the stock jack is WAY too short, several times I've had to put the jack onto cement blocks (solid, like the ones a patio could be made from, not cinder) to get the jack high enough so that it could actually reach the jack point. It needs some viagra something fierce.
