A few weeks ago I posted a pic of my gas cap/door:

[Broken External Image]:

My problem was the Fuel Cap, whenever I filled up the cap was in the way.

Dingo posted a pic of his Cap/Door.....

And now, here's my mod (thanks to Dingo):

Works great! Took me maybe 10 minutes, most of which was looking though my shop to find the parts.

Thanks Dingo.

lol. It's amazing the little differences you can find between two seemingly similar vehicles.

Rodger,

Using a drill and small screw + nut, you can relocate the cap cable to the arm of the door. For a hanger, a small plastic hook (3M tape on the back) from Target, Lowes, Wal-Mart, etc. will work.

I've never let it dangle on the side (always wedge it above the filler nozzle) but this will make life easier. I'll likely do it when I am back home next weekend.

My '08 has a hook from the factory. Of course I had the truck for two months before I noticed it was there.

I just unbolted the cap, removed the leash.......

Now it is not in the way at all...

I put the cap on the bed cover upside down, Works perfect..

I just got annoyed at a Safeway gas station one time and took my knife and cut the leash.

Not the most elegant solution, but it worked....
