I'm in Kingman until Thu. a.m., then I'll be in the area Thursday and Friday. Any recommendations for areas to stay, N,E,W,S. Looking for under $100. a night. Hoover Dam on the way in and then I'm open to whatever.

Depends on what else you want to do. To just stay and play Sam's Town or any of the Station Casinos will be hard to beat. Sam's Town and Sunset Station are both in the southeast on the road in from Hoover Dam.

Also there is the question of if you want to stay at a place that you can gamble at or a gambling free hotel. There are places west of the Strip where there is no gambling. :p

Thanks, gambling is not a priority since there are so many other places to do that. Any interested in meeting up today sometime?

Paul,

I stayed at The Orleans on Topicana Blvd about a mile west of the Strip. I got a suite for $44 a night but made reservations 2 months in advance over the Internet.

Places to go and see would include, Red Rock Canyon, and The Valley of Fire. The is also one of the worlds largest Outlet Malls a few miles south of the MGM Grand and NY-NY casinos. Just follow the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd) south about 2 miles past all the casinos and the airport and the mall is on the left.

You won't have time to do much of anything else being there for only 2 days.

Paul: It's a nice drive NW of Las Vegas to Mt Charleston (about 30 miles). You'll go from desert to ponderosa pines in only a few miles.

Sorry we weren't able to meet up with you last night. I was bummed when Maury told me.

I second the Valley of Fire, it's awsome. If you don't mind a trip back to the dam, take the hard-hat tour. I've never done it myself, but friends say it's well worth it.

Have a safe trip!!
