It is more than just leadership. It is people.
New Orleans is a cess pool filled with many people whom are third generation welfare plus a corrupt local and state political system. Add to this people whom think it normal to build in areas that flood every time it rains (in the streets) and floods big time whenever the pumps can not handle the rainfall (pumps can handle one inch of rain first hour and a half inch beyond that). Now our tax dollars are going to be spent rebuilding in an area where it makes no sense to rebuild. Why do you think the founders built the french quarter where they did and why do you think it was one of the few areas that did not flood. And now those of us that live near New Orleans (I live 50 miles north) have to deal with the traffic and other problems coming from the people that have been displaced to our areas. I bought a handgun yesterday and now lock the door on my house. Something that was not needed before the hurricane. I still have no hot water (due to storm damage) and don't expect to be able to find a plumber for at least another month. Seems that the limited trades are in high demand (must be something to do with 130,000 destroyed homes and another 300,000 damaged homes!). The New Orleans area (including the areas up to 100 miles around it) is a dump of a place to live. And the government is going to give these same people money to rebuild while those of us that have JOBS and those of us that have INSURANCE get nothing from FEMA. Makes me wonder if FEMA was originally thought up in New Orleans! Oh and the Saints....perhaps this time they will move away. This team keeps getting money from the state only to loose every year. They should be told they are to play in the Superdome till they start winning!!!! ahh...I feel better now!
