Need some help. Have a leaking differential seal, driveshaft. 2001 ST. Tried looking in the Projects section W/O any result. Have not yet looked in the Ford Repair manual as it sometimes goes off on a tangent. The ST group has a more "grass roots" approach and the techniques are real world experiences. Any help is apperciated.

Due to the tightness of the nut holding the yoke onto the pinion shaft, the tools required are more than standard home tools.

Often, it requires 3/4 or 1 inch drive tools to get this nut free.

At the VERY LEAST, 1/2 drive breaker bar with an extension will be needed.

Shops use 3/4 inch drive impact tools.

Once you get that off, th yoke will normally come off with some "persuasion" of a hammer. I would not hit the yoke with the hammer itself, get some brass so you do not damage he yoke.

Thanks for the help. I got as far as the yoke nut. This is tough. Do have access to a 3/4 drive set with breaker bar. Will give that a shot. ;)
