My 2001 ST leaks water around the left rear window. I already cleaned the sunroof discharge hoses. Does this mean I have to pull off my back window and reseal it. Is this a common problem?

No need to remove the rear window. The main culpirits for leaks on the ST's are the third brake light seals and the roof rack bolt holes. I removed both and used 3M tape to seal the third brake light (cut to outline of light bracket), also I removed the roof racks and used windshield caulking and sealed the bolt holes, then mounted the racks back on (no leaks in the last two years since this was done).

Thanks, will try that. Damn thing is driving me crazy, I just hit 100k miles and now I'm getting oil in my radiator (overheated from craked water outlet/ thermostat housing).

Didnt early 01's have a n isue with the weatherstripping around the door?

We've had alot of rain here lately in Jersey, and i just noticed some wetness under the kick panels on both sides. I haven't checked the sunroof drains or anything else yet. I'll be sure to check the third brake light and roof rails too. I have an early 01 and was wondering if what Todd Z said above is true? It looks like there are door seals and roof seals at the top of the doors.

Does anyone remember what that '01 weatherstripping issue was? I just saw some water drip in around the top of the rear pass side door.

I had this problem, big time here in Florida. After big rain i would have water all under the floor mat on the rear driver's side. I sealed the 3rd brake light sealed the bolts and did the drain.

Still water was coming in, soaking the floor on the bottom and up under the rear seat. So on a sunny day i put a garden hose up on roof and let it run while i was inside with everything closed up.

My water was coming from 2 places. One was from a small hole in the sealer that fills a hole right by the rear side panel (drivers side). If you take off the rear storage door behind the seat and the molding that goes to the rear door you can see the side compartment that lets excess rain flow over board. One of the rubber sealents to fill a hole rottede out and allowed water to run right into the cab.

The other area i had was the door seal was loose around the bottom of the door. with the hose running I could see water "creeping" up and over the bottom lip of the door and geeting absorbed right into the floor mat foam like a sponge.

Do this, pull off the rear door floor trim, the part that holds down your floor mat and snaps in place. If the metal clips that hold this peice down are rusty, you have a door seal leaking. Rip it out and silicone it up and reinstall.

I have been "leak-free" for a year now, but was a tricky problem for me to find where it all was coming from. I have a 2003 Trac.

Thanks for the info. I must first try the 3rd brake light because my leak comes from above and trickles on to the rear drivers side passengers head rest. This is why I first tackled the drains. But I will also reseal the 3rd brake light and roof rack. Hopefully this will work.
