lights behind fan /temp / position switches

i have a 2002 sport trac. no lights work , that light up behind fan / temp/ position area. can't see at all when dark outside, unless i feel or turn interrior lights on. is there suppose to be lights iluminating this area ?

Yes it is supposed to be illuminated. The link below is about changing light colors but it gives you the procedure, with photos, to remove the radio/HVAC bezel and access the bulbs you need to replace.

Just redid mine. Both bulbs were blown. Pretty easy to do it. Remove bezel and a few screws. Just uses a couple of regular dash bulbs. Shouldn't take but 10 or 15 minutes.:supercool:

google super bright leds, they have leds that you can use in place of regular bulbs. I'm about to order a set for my truck since most of my lights are out

do you know the link on superbrightleds in reference to which bulb we are suppose to use? Also, could you paint those led bulbs as well?
