as i watch the phx-san ant nba playoff game i am disappointed at the LOS SUNS jersey's that the phx suns are wearing.

per news reports the jersey is being worn in protest of the new arizona immagration law.

imo, the nba or any professional team/leauge should not use sports to send a protest message.

btw, the playes voted to wear them.

on a side note, i am in favour of the bill, but just don't bring sports into it.

I don't see what the issue is. It's not like they're some government entity or something like that, with a need to remain politically neutral. Each team is effectively a private company. If they want to make a statement for or against something like this--regardless of whether that stance agrees with you or not--it's fully within their rights to do so.

Further, if anything, too many companies (IMHO) avoid ever taking any position or stance on any issue, for fear of offending some segment of their customer base. Kudos to The/Los Suns for having the guts to not give in to political correctness.

They made their statement by wearing the jerseys. If you don't like it, make a statement of your own by not buying their product, or by not buying the products of their sponsors. But don't whine about feeling they shouldn't be able to make the statement they did.

Some of us watch sports to kinda get away from politics and stuff and here we go with this junk. And before the game we got all the talking sports heads weighing in on it. I like Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith but could care less about their politics. It was annoying to extent I just turned the channel. Keep sports out of politics, period. OBTW how many of them or us live on the border and have to put up with the traffic, drugs, kidnappings, murders etc etc. I do not know what it would be like but to me if we were protecting our borders we would not have this new law or need another law to deal with what is already illegal, what about illegal do people not understand.

How would Los Suns and the NBA feel about undocumented players coming into the league to dunk the ball and shoot 3's for say $50 grand per year instead of $5 million?

They support these same undocumented workers who couldn't afford to buy 1 ticket without coughing up a months wages?

Ticket prices would go down at least and undocumented players would probably have better criminal records than the current players do.

Why do people care what rich celebs think?

Shaun, my thoughts also. We are so media flooded with hollywood and others. You would think they are Gods. They try to tell society what is PC. Even if it is wrong.

They try to tell society what is PC.

They only tell society what is PC because society (via the media it consumes) asks them. Don't get upset with them for simply answering the questions that we ask.

AGREE,

keep politics out of sports. remember the concept is that going into a game, both teams are neutral.

if every team started to display a "protest", sports will go down the tubes as other things have
