Anyone experience a loud grinding/ draging sound from around the front wheel? It only happens once and awhile so it is hard to pinpoint the exact location. thanks

Hi Greg, my guess will be the hub/wheel bearing assembly my passenger side went out this fall and it made quite a racket. Could also be debris stuck in the brake caliper if it is constant and not turn related.

Hi MDtrac

It sounds like something fell off the bottom of the truck and is grinding against the pavement. Happens twice a day for about 20 to 30 seconds. The hub/wheel bearing

could sound like that?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I believe its the bearing assembly mine had a very similar effect when it went out. Don't let it go too long it gets messy real quick not to mention dangerous!

Yep, My hub bearing had that noise. Replaced the drivers side and no more noise.

Some say to replace them in pairs, (both sides at same time) but I replaced only the drivers side at about 120K miles. Have 144K on it now, and passenger side is still fine.

I just had my driver side one done today at the dealer. Had 120k km. Cost me $550 Canadian. Local shop that I usually use and is always cheaper wanted the same. He couldn't believe how much the part was on it's own. The bearing was $375.
