I averaged about 22mpg on the highway for the trip. It took just a little more than one tank for the 500 or so miles. My Scangauge II predicted around 480 highway miles per tank of gas on 87 octane. Not too shabby.

I set my cruise control at about 60mph and averaged around 21.6mpg there and back, with a fully loaded bed and three people in the truck.

People were whizzing by me, but I wasn't in any hurry. I did have a few truckers come barreling up my six and then gesture rudely at me when they were finally able to pass around me.

My numbers for Louisville:

Average MPG: 21.0 (best 22.4, worse 19.5)

Gallons Used: 102

Total Gas Cost $409

Cost per Mile $0.019

AVG Cost $4.02 (lowest $3.91 in Ohio. Highest 4.39 in CT)

Total Distance: 2135 Miles

Not bad for a 4X4. We averaged around 65 MPH. In spite of the cost, we had a great time. Many pictures to come soon.

6/15/2008 190.1 9.8 19.40 Highway, Some of this was in Louisville.

6/11/2008 364.9 15.106 24.16 Highway

6/11/2008 432.7 19.236 22.49 Highway

6/11/2008 335.1 15.776 21.24 Highway

I found a place or two that was seeling gas for 3.799 and 3.829, I figured it was better to fill up a little at these places. Rather than waiting and filling up at alot of gas at 3.89 to 4.00. I was very happy. especially when the scangauge was telling me I could go for 600 miles on a tank._Ron

Rampo, your decimal point is off one in your cost per mile. I was like DAMN! $.02 per mile is good (because that would be appx 200mpg @ $4 a gallon), so it's $.20 per mile.

I'm headed back home from Atlanta, finally, in a little bit here, so I'll soon know how I did. I'll probably have to fill up on the way home, but no big deal, I'll top it off when I get back and I'll have my numbers.
