All Over the East Coast,
Is there a cleaning facility near the picnic grounds? Or, how do you recommend cleaning the vehicle for the competition?

I'll be traveling solely at night, and I know the bug strikes will be numerous. This also assumes that it does not rain.

And - what would you warn if I was to use Saran Wrap to cover the front (just across, one ply but sufficient cover of the front (no hood)? It sounds stupid, but I would leave the radiator open. I thought it could be a Nascar-style move, where I peel it off when I get there for a "just washed" shine.

As you can tell, I am open to any ideas. :) Thanks folks.

I was concerned about dust, road grime, and bugs myself. And of course rain. I never thoght of the saran wrap, but I had planned on bringing some touch up supplies along...(car duster, spray polish and etc.) I really have no hope of winning, but I like my girl looking clean...especially when she'll be in such good company.

the hotel there will supply hoses and water and towels you can use to wash the bugs off the trac, wish I could get time off to go :(

Yes, on the paint. I probably should mention that my truck is painted flat black. I know Adam is a bit, um, anal, about how nice his 'Trac looks...I was just pulling his leg a bit. But seriously, WD-40 does work...

There are several carwashes near the hotel, or you can wash and shine in the hotel parking lot like most others do.

Tiger,

After mentioning "Anal" and "Spit" in one thread, I;m glad to hear you don't lick the bugs off. :D
