I spent 3.5 hrs in the yard yesterday. Got stung by a wasp, sunburned and must have drank two gallons of water. I was planning to paint inside the house today, but I'm not very energetic, and Hooters is just a mile away...what should I do?

Its 98 in the shade of my back porch...Yard work hasnt' been a problem..my brother repairs and rebuilds mowers and such as a side job...So he gets to test them on mine, Yeah!! :D

Today it is really hot. In the 90's and very humid. I love it! Yesterday it was 85+ degreesand slightly less humid.

Yesterday, my brother-in-law and I installed new pads and rotors, plugs and wires, and an oil change on his 1998 Explorer.

Plugs and wires were original. Some were so worn down, the gap was as much as 1/8 inch. Over double the recomended gap.

I guess after 143,337 miles, they needed to be changed.

It's 102 here today. Too hot for me, but I do live in AZ so who can complain. It is during our monsoon season so we get some humidity to go along with it, only 15% today...but to a desert rat like me that's high!!

Who ever said "at least it's a dry heat", didn't know what they heck they were talking about.

Here in South Central kansas the forcast with the heat index figured in it will be 110 all this week. And I work outside!:(

Today I finished the new patio that I paid someone else to do. I also cleaned up the old patio and fixed up the flower beds. Tomorrow I need to mow the lawn and fertilize. This grownup stuff sucks. I can't believe I had to finish the patio myself, I hate contractors.

What is it with this "Heat Index" ?? Do I need someone to tell me it is hot out there ?? Gosh, I'm 57 and it was hot when I was young; I knew that then :)

I worked in it then and my yard work now does not halt now because of the "Heat Index".

Now they tell us how hot it is and how hot it will feel. Workers know how hot it is.

..............And to difuse all the myths, it just doesn't get that hot in South Florida, due to the ocean breezes.

Mid to upper 80's lately.

I run 5 miles everyday at high noon (lunchtime) , and there was only one day about 3 weeks ago that was a real ******.

I'm a glutton for punishment. I started to go to Hooters and noticed the ST was REALLY FILTHY. I washed it instead. My black Trac was almost too hot to touch, but I washed it and pulled it into the garage for detailing. I remembered and old box fan I have and turned that sucker on high to cool the garage down. My garage is detached from the house -- the ST showed it was 115 degrees in there before the fan.

Now I am REALLY thirsty. No chance I am painting tonight.

Ken Stewart,

Feel free to drop me a line next time you are in town. I just returned from a RECON mission. The Beer is COLD and the girls are HOT!
