Master cylinder cap

Could anyone tell me if the diaphram on the inside of the master cylinder cap should be pused out or in to the cap. I just had my front brakes changed so I wanted to make sure the mechanic got it right or if the fluid pressure pushed it up.

The diaphram should only drop down when the fluid is low...if the level is normal,up..

As a general rule they go up into the cap. As fluid lowers in the cylinder due to break wear the rubber lowers into the cylinder. This is to help prevent any air from getting into the hydraulics of the brake system...
