Mercury Sport Trac

I finally got around to taking a photo of this. I'm betting there aren't many of these around.

It's my 2001 Sport Trac. The Ford badge appears everywhere else, except on the driver door sill. I'm guessing the factory worker reached into the supply bin for Mercury Mountaineers.



I discovered this shortly after buying the truck new, in 2000. I asked the dealer to fix it, under warranty. He checked with Ford, and found that there was no recommended way of removing the vinyl trim. So it's a Mercury Sport Trac forever, I suppose.

Mercury did make pickup trucks from the 40's to the 60's in Canada.

Pretty much makes your ride priceless. Just a matter of what the buyer is willing to pay for it...



Some things are too easy. First the mistake itself and then the dealer saying, "Can't fix it".
