Hi Todd,

I recall your post about taking out your resonator and welding in a stainless steel pipe. I have to admit that I am fascinated by the idea and have called 3 Ford dealers to inquire if there might be any warranty ramifications, other than of course the exhaust will not be warrantied.

One dealer said yes they believe Ford would refuse all engine and maybe drive-line claims, the second said perhaps it could impact claims and the third said, none whatsoever. All agreed the exhaust would not be warrantied, I agree with that myself.

My question is, did you research this before you made the jump and how much of a difference is it? I am not looking for "noise" just a soft rumble. Do you happen to have a sound clip? Here is my email address on the outside chance that you do.

As always, many thanks for your hard work on this site and your assistance.

I saw Todd' truck at Englishtown last month. Crawled underneath and saw the section that was welded in. The resonator is that "square" box before the muffler. His pipe was welded by a proffessional as it was clean and in-line. The sound was a bit louder(had a nicer rumble) than my Magnaflow cat-back system. Couldn't hear his at full throttle though, because of my helmet and the roar of my truck. His sounds pretty good!! Bob :driving:

e-town, a fun nite

gotta do it again in the spring

Gerry,

I am a person that feels IF I mod it, and Beat it and it brakes Its MY fault.....

BUT the dealer I bought my truck from is the largest Mustang dealer on Long Island Now and they deal with Modded vehicles all the time..... They informed me that they would take care of me if I had a claim with in reason.....

Yes my exhaust warranty is void, But NOTHING else....

As for sound clips.... OF COURSE !! Who do you think this is.... LOL... HAHAHAHAHAAH

The stock muffler must be very free flowing. For the rumble without the resonator. Sounds good.

Thanks Todd, that was fantastic and as always "You the man". Come to Winnipeg someday and I will show you some night life. :driving:

Gavin,

Your welcome ...... Its exactly what i wanted with low cost and since the OEM is stainless and the aftermarket is the same 2.5 inch, WHY spend the $$...

Ed,

I agree, it has nice flow and made a difference in the truck...

Your welcome and Sure, One day man...
