Mixing Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 EP 5W-30

Hi,



I got the new Mobil 1 EP (Extended Performance) 5W-30 by mistake. Am I going to be ok using 2 bottles of the regular Mobil 1 5W-30 from my last oil change along with it?

I don't believe it will be any different than mixing various weights of regular oil.

It will be fine. The EP has some extra additives in it to last longer, that's all. My dad bought a mix of them by accident so I double checked on an oil forum before I changed his oil, it will be fine.

Mobile 1 and Mobile 1 EP are compatible. EP has more additives that get depleated over time. The base formulation, I believe, are idendical.

You're okay, you can even mix with Conventional oil.
