Yeah, I know... Not much to report on the ST lately, as it's a 'work truck' now, but I did get the Escalade back this morning after getting the first of my mods done to it.

I took it into Sacramento Valley Sunroofs to have a 'ole cut in the roof...

And while it was there, I had them put on a nice E&G classics mesh grille.

I wanted a mesh grille, and I ordered the 'large mesh' instead of the regular mesh grille, so I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not. But I think it looks fine on a big behemoth like the Escalade... I know I like it a LOT better than the factory one!

'Lades are nice rides....although I'd get a Navi over one because I like the interior better...not that you had a choice. Either way, the mesh looks tons better then the stock grille. Now just get some 24" wheels on it and you'll be good.

I thought a moonroof was standard on the 'Lade? Does yours not have HIDs either? I see it does have sat radio though, aftermarket?

Trav,

My mom bought it used, and no, it didn't come with a sunroof in it already. It had an aftermarket DVD player with a 15" screen, which I had taken out. (The dogs aren't into watching the 'Dog Whisperer' whilst I'm careening down the road at breakneck speed!) Are HID's the bright blue ones? If so, yes, it does have them... for standard headlights. It has halogens for brights. The sat radio is factory XM. It also has the Onstar system.

And Rodger, no, I won't be buying an '07 ST. I don't like the new ones, so I'll be driving my '01 for a while longer. It only has 94k on it, so it should last another couple of weeks! :)

Yes JK,

I've picked up the 'neighbors' in it. They call me to come pick them up at the bars when they've been drinking. (which is very good!)

And I'd have a Navi too, but since I inherited the Lade, I'm making the best of it...

You are braver than I am, If I payed that much for a vehicle and it didn't already have a sunroof then it wouldn't get one after I bought it.

Ray,

I inherited it, so I didn't have to pay anything... So to drop $1500 for a sunroof wasn't anything. And it's SO much nicer with it in!!

There will be NO 24's. I repeat... NO 24's!!! I MIGHT go for some 20's, but only if they come in all season tires, because I gotta drive this thing in the snow come winter time.

Even 20's look a bit small on an Escalade. The huge sidea lend well to bigger wheels.

You can get all-terrain and off-road style tires in 20", maybe even 22" now, but I forget you only vacation in the valley and live in the mountains, so you need actual tires.

Paul,

The sunroof is an Inalfa ASI series. I had it installed at Sacramento Valley Sunroofs up on Auburn Blvd, right as you get off Bus. 80 at Watt Ave. South. Look 'em up in the fone book...

They also ordered me the E & G grille. I pasted the link to see the model #.

Nice job, but the tech left a Torx bit in the cigarette lighter, and forgot to plug my upper console lights back in. I had to fix them last night at 9 pm. I stopped by to let them know this afternoon. Got a free annual sunroof service out of it...
