While cleaning my 04 XLT, I noticed the roof liner was discolored around the moon roof. So I opened the roof and took a light to check to make sure the drains were open. Both appeared to be plugged with grease. Someone had greased all the workings inside the moonroof structure with axle grease and apparently some of the grease had worked its way into the drains. I took a skinny plastic electric tie and cleaned them as much as I could, and wiped some of the grease overkill off the working mechanism. But, it was hard to get to and I was concerned. I have been avoiding having it washed for fear of getting more wetness and more discoloration. But, I drove it through Mikes a couple of days ago, and voila! no leaks.
