More ethanol trouble

We need to close down the EPA and the DOE....both are worthless departments that have more control over our lives and taxpayer money then those we elect to be legislative representatives. The EPA has full authority to decide what gas we will be forced to use, and they don't have to answer to anybody???

The EPA passed the E-15 regulation even thought the automakers objected because of potential damage to the vehicles, but the court ruled that the automakers did not have the authority to object.?? Through some magical process, known only to the EPA, they certified all vehicles back to 2001 models as safe to used E-15, against the objections of the automakers who made those vehicles and clearly state that they cannot operate on E-15 without eventual damage?

Folks, we have a government that has exceeded it's limitations and is completely out of control.

Amen to that.

I can only hope that my gas stations don't start peddling E-15. Having to buy 4 gallons would be ridiculous. How will this work, will the pump refuse to stop until it blasts out 4 gallons of ethanol-corrupted gasoline? That can't be safe, it'd lead to gas spilling out all over creation if I were to forget and try to fill my 2.5 gallon can, but I can't think of any other way that the EPA could force me to pump out 4 gallons of their rotten E15.

EPA, DOE, DOJ...what do these things do that helps the average American or America? I can't think of a one. The EPA certainly hasn't improved the environment in the DC metro area, that's for certain.

So what about pre-2001 vehicles? Are they assuming that no one drives such vehicles? They can't seriously believe that their asinine Cash for Clunkers program was successful in removing all older cars from the road...can they?

I don't even know how to begin an engine rebuild on my Cougar if I don't know the future of gasoline.:banghead:

I guess I'll just set it up to run on butterfly tears and unicorn piss.

"SeaTow" or "BoatUS" If you have a boat with a 4 stroke you are going to need one of them.

Rich, I can see him as "electable" we may have to purge a few of his post.:bwahaha::bwahaha:

Hugh,

no Sh88.

Looks to almost be a conspiricy by the epa. The tree huggers from the '60s and '70s. Have came down and are now the ones running things.

Not that Im against green. Just individual citzens dont have upgraded equipment, to handle the changes. Not many from auto to small motor companies are tooled up yet.

STA-BIL and Lucas wont be able to keep the E stabilizers on the shelf.

I know. I'm perfectly fine and 100% interested in the newest, most efficient vehicle technology and even have electric or hybrid vehicles on my short list for next vehicles, but I would still like the CHOICE of owning an antique vehicle that runs on gas. It's been hard enough adding lead substitute (which isn't really a substitute). What am I supposed to do for a gasoline substitute? Corn won't cut it.

I feel like the government will be trying to outlaw my lifestyle before I know it. I like muscle cars, useful trucks, guns, harvesting my own food, working and paying my own way and women who love babies instead of murdering inconveniences. What is a guy like me supposed to do?

Hugh,

You hit the nail on the head. I too hope to someday find a nice '69 or '70 stang. The only thing oem will be the body and interior. Motor, suspension, the works will be modernized. It will be street legal but the motor wont be green...First I need to find me a rich widow...:bwahaha:

Redfish,

All candidates are allowed to pick their running mate....and their First Lady....No reason they can't be the same person...

Also, If I am required to submit 2 years of tax returns, I get to pick which years...

I also would not move into the White House, or even move to Washington, DC. I have lived there twice while in the military, and I don't like the traffic or expense. I could save the taxpayers more money staying at my current house and renting out the White House. The government would be able to depreciate the value, and deduct the maintenance and repairs, and save the taxpayers a bundle too.

I would also cut the salary of the President, fly economy class on the local airlines, drive my own vehicle, and pack my own lunch in a brown paper bag.

Now, tell me that I am not a Presidential candidate of the people, for the people !!!

If you truly want to be a candidate of the people, you would have to give up your salary and go on welfare and food stamps, you would not need a wife (you have interns), and not use a brown bag for lunch (it would be highly racist to a number of people of color, diverse religions, and ethnic backgrounds).

I think I should become your campaign manager. I could use the plane, manage the campaign funds, and select interns.:supercool:

Like most politicians, what I say is less important than what I don't say....I simply said I would cut the salary of the President, but never said exactly how much....If I cut it by 1% or 100% is my choice, and I will have fulfilled my campaign promise.

You sound a bit too honest to be involved in politics, but I am interested in the interns you might select...

Is there time to get my name on the ballots?

I would cut alltheir saleries. The ones at or past 65. They would draw about what is average for SS. They would be required to use medicare also.

That would help in making some of them drop out.:supercool:

MANY Jet Skis are having issues as the ethanol is providing damge to the old-style black in color fuel lines. They get weak, crumble and flake from the inside and clog the fuel system or simply blowout due to electronic fuel pump pressure.

The 4-Tech engines Sea Doo is building uses a new style grey in color line and this has stopped all the fuel line issues. They are programing the skis to run on premium fuel which helps with the lower ethanol issues as well.

Yes it cost a bit more, but the skis run fantastic.

My slow ski hits 62 and my fast skis (255hp Super charged inter-cooled) has a limiter at 82 mph. I have never exceeded 72 just to see what it feels like... LOL
