well i heard back this morning on the issue with my truck stalling, and they told me that they believe it is a high frequency that comes from my aftermarket JBA ignition wires. they told me to switch they back to the stock ones, and the problem should go away. They also told me that they show nothing with it being an issue about the IAC valve. I am going to try it, but if it doesn't work, and the truck continues to stall, I am trading in the truck, and buying one of two vehicles, and totally different from each other.

Either the new VW GTI, or the dodge 1500 daytona. (the srt10 1500 is two much money)

ford has pissed me off to much to buy another one. I contimplated getting a new 07 ST but screw ford

Steve, have you tried another dealership? The "harmonic frequencies" sounds like a total crock of malarky to me, and that they just dont want to deal with it. I would also call Ford customer service and explain to them what has happened.

I know this has left a bad taste in your mouth, but I would bet its just the dealership.

Swap back to the OE wires. If that doesn't fix the problem, take it back.

As for the GTI or Ram, keep this in mind, VW is last on reliability lists and Dodge burns gas at a rate of about 12 MPG.

Steve,

Go to a different dealer. My 6CD changer loses about 5 minutes per day. When I took it in for a replacement, my local dealer in Wilkes-Barre (as opposed to the purchasing dealer here in Philly) gave me the "count not repeat" treatment. Of course, morons, if you stare at it for 5 minutes, it will not show a difference.

The purchased-at dealer down here is replacing the changer, as well as the HVAC blower and a few other odds and ends. Despite it being the dealer where it was purchased, I still firmly believe that service depends on the individual dealership.

Again, try another dealer. And, explain the sh*t you have gotten from the others - they will be gaining a customer.

This is the problem when you don't work on a vehicle your self..... The dealer starts it, shuts it off ans says everything is fine.

I think everyone here that had an issue was able to solve it because of this site.

May want to try your hand at fixing it your self, OR have a regular mechanic clean the iac and maf, check the battery and computer connections for corrosion, and tightness.

Also check for a leak, bad filters, weak fuel pump etc.

The problem is the dealer see's something aftermarket and blames that immediately.

That sucks.

My jba wires are perfectly fine, No problems.

I think someone is needed to look at the truck for you, or have a regular mechanic check it over...

This is the 2nd dealer I have gone to. My father and I have spoken to Ford Customer Service already, and they recommened this 2nd dealership.

I told them about the after market stuff in advance, and they are actually not going to charge me because they couldn't do anything. I even told them to check the IAC valve, and they are ignoring my request. I am switching the wires back and if it does it again, I don't know what I should do. I have shown this to 2 regular mechanics also, and both told me to bring it to ford.

I am not happy, also between the gti and the dodge daytona, I have spoken to numerous other people, and they have loved their VW (one is my brother) and the dodge is just a awesome truck, 5.7 L hemi, my last option, which i don't want to do is buy a F-150

I know you will not be happy with the doge, I know several people that have the dodge and after a couple of years the truck goes down hill really fast...

I know nothing about the VW.

I don't think switching the wires is the problem.

Follow the project on cleaning the IAC motor, IT is simple to do.

If not IF you want to waste the day, the offer is open for you to come here and I will look it over for you...

I will never buy a VW again. Wife had a jetta. Started as a nickel and dimer and turned into a constant service problem. My trac has been twice as reliable.

Steve - all those things you can check yourself in less than 30 mins. Cleaning the IAC will take 5 mins. If your having random stalling you might have a vacumm leak from the air intake, MAF, negative cable or the ECU. All these can be checked without the dealer. I had the same issue and the dealer told me it was caused by the PIAA lights. Proved them wrong. It was the negative battery cable ground came loose and sometimes it had a ground sometimes it didn't. What you have is a dealership that is lazy and depends too much on the damn computer codes to tell them what is wrong with the vehicle. I've never heard of aftermarket wires causing problems.
