I put 5000 miles on my Trac in the last 5 weeks. :driving:

Time to change the oil again.

Since June 19, in addition to my normal driving....

Pittsburgh to Bristol, TN (drag races).

Bristol to Ft. Myers, FL (vacation) in an overnight 14 hour blast.

Ft. Myers to Sarasota, FL and back to visit my cousin.

Ft. Myers to Sanford, FL to catch the Auto Train to Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. back to Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh to Louisville, KY for the MySportTrac.com meet.

Louisville to Bowling Green, KY to see the Corvette Museum.

Bowling Green back to Pittsburgh.

This weekend, Pittsburgh to Pocono in eastern PA and back to see the NASCAR race. We always take my dad's Cadillac to the race but my mom wrecked into it in backing out of the garage so we took my truck.

Most of the time I pulled down 18 to 20 mpg, not bad considering I'm normally running 75 or 80.

It did pick up a weird vibration in the steering column whenever it's slightly off center. I checked the wheel bearings and they seem okay and it doesn't feel like out-of-balance wheels since you feel it at low speed too. I dunno, I'll rotate the tires and see if it goes away. Otherwise all is well.

Johnny, are you still using penzoil platinum? Have you ever used castrol full syn and ran it thru blackstone labs?

Curious I switched to castrol full syn and k&n filter. It is time for filter change and top off. Im going to run it 10k. Then send off a sample.

Nice man !!!! As long as you had fun thats all that counts !!!

Safe trips !!

I wish I could get 18-20

I did a weekend trip from Charlotte to Atlanta and got around 16-17.5 doing about 75ish. Using cruise control all the way, I just can't get her MPG yet but she is still new to me so I still learning how to drive and have not really changed anything on it except oil

Trying to get a Zabtech CAI and TB.

I switched to Mobil 1 0w-30 Fuel Economy Formula on this truck about a year ago. I run it 5000 miles and Blackstone said it was fine. Never tried Castrol. As luck would have it, Wally-Mart was out of FL-820S filters, so I have to debate going across town to Auto Zone or just going to K-Mart (it's closer) and get a PureONE.

Had the tires rotated and balanced this morning, each one was off at least an ounce, but I still feel the vibration although it's not as bad. The guys at the tire shop were like, "WTF? Weren't you just here?" Yup.

Sadler took the phrase "He lost an engine" to a new level.

Glad they were all okay.

I got to K-Mart and they had PureONEs on sale for $5.30.

Then I get to the register and it doesn't ring up the sale price. The cashier calls on the PA "Someone from automotive for a price check" but I used to work at K-Mart and I know that was a cruel joke even back then because there isn't anyone ever working in automotive.

I have the extra $2 but it's the principle of the thing.

Fight the construction detour traffic to AutoZone and get a Motorcraft for $3.99.
