I know this is not a ST, but I would like to put this out there, and see if anyone has a though. 1997 pontiac sunfire GT 2.4 HO It has single back , and then splits to duel. The muffler sit at the very back on either side of the trunk well. One muffler is a little larger than the other, but there is room for two of the larger on. I know it is a 4CY, but I would like to get a little roar out of it without sounding tinney(rice). Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ray

Sorry-I don't mean to offend, but I think the best idea is for you to get some counseling to find out why you want to invest money in an 11-year-old Pontiac Sunfire...

:(

just throw a flowmaster 40 series on it. I had it on my 4 banger ranger and the cops didn't like it very much.

To Gavin I have been a member here from 2001. I don't ask many questions and only give advice when it is of help. I think the old saying "If you can't say something nice (helpfull) don't say anything at all." holds true here. Thank you shvdnlayd for your reply.

Since it is a GT/HO. Some one may manufacture a cat-back system for it. Try an online search with all the majors. Usually catbacks with baffle style mufflers dont sound ricey.

If I were you, I'd probably check out www.j-body.org. I was a member there when I had my '96 Cavalier Z24. There are quite a few different companies that make bolt-on kits - Vibrant, Magnaflow just to name a couple. Vibrants is a single out exhaust while the Magnaflow's exhaust is a dual-muffler setup. A custom setup is always a good way to go if you're looking to save a little cash. But check that site out. I'm sure they'll be more help than we will here.

By the way...here's my j-body from back in the day. I miss it every once and a while.

Somehow I think Dynomax would have something for you. There are plenty of other options just gotta choose one. Maybe check out a local muffler shop and see what they recommend for good flow and note. I have run a flowmaster on a 4 banger and would go that route again.

A few things I have heard about 4 cylinders. Keep your exhaust system small. A larger pipe will give you the ricer "pissed off bumblebee sound".

Honestly, you will not get a performance sound out of a 4 cylinder.
