I appreciate all the responses , a couple more small questions though. When I pulled out my head unit, I see the GEM module on the left, but am not sure how to remove. Also, what is the best way to remove the trim bezel. P.S. with a bad GEM module, my gauge cluster and other accessories wouldnt be affected? They all seem to work . Thanks again Shannon



one more thing....this morning when i got in the truck all of a sudden my instrument lights came on, but everything else (wipers, windows, and radio) are still out. thanks

The GEM module is held in place with screws. The easiest way to remove the bezel is to remove the two 7mm screws between the heater controls and the radio and then pull.



And yes, all the symptoms point to the GEM module.
