Hello all! Recently picked up this 2001 Honda Rebel 250 in the Trac; perfect fit with the gate down and the bed extender in place.

I can't help but smile when the gas pump stops at ~$6.50 and I leave knowing I won't need fuel for another ~175 miles. And it's fun to ride as well. :D

If I can ride 7-8 months of the year it will pay for itself by this time next year.

Good times!

I've noticed a lot more bikes being riden this year then last. Last summer, you'd see a lot of bikes on the weekend, or on espically nice weekdays, but this year, I'll hear and see bikes everyday, almost no matter the weather.

I recently read that bikes sales are up whatever percentage, mainly because of the high gas prices. If you live close to work, it's a bargain, as a tank of gas could last a month or more. Just gotta watch out for thsoe stupid drivers who don't watch thier mirrors....loud pipes save lives.

i love taking my bike to work!! a tank of gas costs $8.00 and lasts about 3 weeks(depending on how i drive it:D)but tiger is right. you have to pay alot more attention to the people around you because alot of them dont notice you or think that they always have the right of way because they are bigger:angry:. but i love riding my bike, you can ride year round down here in florida too:D:D[Broken External Image]: the one i drive is the black one. i sold the silver one a couple months ago... it was great on gas but only had 45hp!! the black ninja is a little bit better at 120hp!

If you haven't done so yet, invest in a Rider's Edge course, it is worth every penny and will help you greatly in emergency situations. Also don't forget the motorcycle endorsement for your driver's license, you can be ticketed in my state for not having that.

Have fun!

Thanks guys. Yes, one must be fully alert and constantly scanning for hazards while riding a two wheeler, especially a little Honda that hardly makes any noise. I'll check out a local Rider's Edge course...sounds well worth it and would probably be fun at the same time.

Sorry about the pic not displaying. It worked last night...guess I'll put it in my library instead.

Ride Safe!

Chad, i havent heard of riders edge courses but there is also the MSF course. thats what i took, and upon completion you automaticaly get your motorcycles license. it also reduces your insurance rates and they supply the bikes( pretty much the same kind as yours).

Chad,

Yes if you can find a motorcycle Safety Foundation Course (MSF) or Riders Edge

http://www.ridersedge.com/

they are much the same. I took the MSF course here in FL, but my instructor (and owner of the school) lost his life from an SUV that whacked him from behind. The MSF school here closed, and Riders Edge fills that void now. You will have a great time at the 3 day school, learn a lot, make new friends, and most importantly give you the equivalent of two years practical road experience.

It has been a few years since I owned a motorcycle ( HD )..I have ridden and owned various sized bikes..JMHO, a 250cc doesnt have enough power or size for a full grown man...;)
