Please, help me! My wife's 2002 Land Rover Freelander is driving me NUTS! The turn signals are not working(hazard lights do work). When you singal(left or right) the lights do not come on and the flasher unit makes a buzzing noise. Occasionally other crazy things happen when you signal: one or more of the following lights may come on: traction control light, low fuel light, hill decent light, abs light, brake warning light, air bag light. Also, rarely, when you signal the rear window wiper will come on or the engine will stall. I have done the following: changed the flasher unit, disconnected the turn signal switch and jumped the wires, checked the fuses, checked the voltage to the turn signal switch(6.5 volts ?!?!?) Any help will be greatly appreciated.:(

Maybe wireing in the steering column has shorted to each other. Rubded, burned, grounded or shorted somehow..

Ignition switch was bad. 12 volts(good voltage) going in to the switch but only 8 volts(bad) coming out. Installed a new ignition switch($24). Everything works great now!

Glad to hear you were able to get it fixed for cheap.

Land Rovers, particularly Freelanders, are not known to be very reliable vehicles, or cheap to fix. I hear Land Rovers are getting better, but that provides little solace to someone with an older model.

People still forget that Land Rover/Range Rover are British vehicles. Ford has done wonders with Jaguar and Land Rover/Range Rover. Ford actually made them almost ownable.

Too many people learned the hard way by owning MG's that you had to have an "English Car Mechanic" on speed dial. Gawd, I loved "English Metric" fasteners.
