I went to Navteq's website today to get an upgrade(8P) for my nav system and it seems they are no longer selling the discs direct to the public. The memo stated they are temporarily not available and to go to my Ford dealer. Anyone know whats up? Did Ford step in and claim all the rights or something? Any help...:(

Discs are available only through your Ford dealer for OEM GPS equipment. Its only 99 or 129 for the disc if I remember correctly. Ebay is a cheaper place. All the disc's are universal I believe.

Called Navteq directly and was told as of June 3rd, they were no longer selling any Ford products, no explanation, no possibility of getting a disc, end of call. Went to the dealer and asked, they only have the 7P version and it would be $299 to order it. As compared to Navteq site that was selling them at $149. Parts manager is looking into getting an 8P disc, as this was news to him, as he was about to tell me to call Navteq. The plot thickens, will update you all later. Bob
