My pump went bad and my crankshaft seems to have fused to the engine. I need to get a new one, but my funds are rather limited since I have been out of work for about 1.5 years now.

Anyone know of a reputable place to get one close to the Houston area for a good price?

The best I have been able to get so far is about 1900 with exchange.

Thanks for any help.

I just replaced my engine at 63K because of a broken spring exhaust valve that destroy it. It was extremely difficult to find a replacement that fitted my budget, so I understand you. I got my engine from a place in Florida call Sanford Auto Savage (407 321-3371) . I bought a 4.0 SOHC engine with 50K for $1000+tax delivered. They gave me the VIN of the vehicle from which they removed the engine in my receipt ( you can run a carfax and verify millage). Their core fee is $200 in case you cannot give them your old engine when they deliver the replacement. I would suggest that you call them and see what can they do for you.

P.S. There is a company call COMSTOCKPARTS that sells parts on-line. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT PLACE. He offered me an engine with 20K miles for $995+tax delivered W/o core fee + 3 years warranty. What I got was a 150.000+ engine that was pretty much useless because of broken parts and rust. When I asked for a refund the guy stopped answering the phone or returning my calls. Right now the police is conducting an investigation because they believe I was sold and stolen engine. I never could get the VIN. I'm disputing the money with my credit card, and I'm confident they will take care of me.

I have one out of a 02 that was running and sounded great. It does need 2 cams. I willsell as is for 675. Or can install cams for an additional fee. Plus freight.
