I have an 2 second .avi video file, 3.19mb.

It is my Dad when he was in his hospice bed, and my grand neice next to him. The day before he passed. The video is kinda useless. Camera was in the wrong mode, for 2 seconds. So all it is a pic. Just wrong format for my project.

I want to convert it to a, .jpeg snap shot. Is that possible or can someone do this for me. I have looked on the web. Cant find a file converter for .avi to snapshot to a jpeg.

Thanks, Eddie

I dont know if this will work but look at Format Factory Convert Video Files.

Also you may just need to grab a frame and save it as a jpg file instead of converting. Search how to grab a frame from an .avi

i found this:

If you have PowerPoint, play back the video, pause it at the point you want the picture and press ALT-Printscreen. Create a new powerpoint file, and paste that screen cap. Save the file as .jpg.

Or, you could download free screen capture software:

Eddie,

You can simply do a Google search like: "Free AVI to xxx file converter software) and let Google do all the work. I did that about a year ago and got about a dozen hits...just watch out that some of the software is only Trial versions and does not have all the features activated unless you buy it. I found several 100% Freeware programs and some worked better than others.

Unfortunately I cannot recall the name of the program that I used that worked very well since my hard-drive crashed a few months ago and my backup did not save the operating system or software, just my data.. So I had to reinstall everything from scratch...and probably got 98% of everything back with the exception of some of the Freeware downloads

Now I use a new Image Backup software to make an image backup of my new hard-drive each week to a separate external drive. I have also moved all my data files to a NAS (Network Attached Storage) system with dual 1TB drives configured as a RAID-1 (master/shadow) disks. I have also installed a Disk monitor program that checks all of my internal and external drives and gives a warning message if it starts to see any disc deterioration....Hopefully, long before the disc crashes.

...Rich
