A few months ago I was ready to sell the 2001 w/ 50,000 miles and move on to a Tacoma crew cab. A few other priorities overcame that thought, so I went ahead and started putting $ in to the Trac. First - Polk 5x7s in the doors - wow. Second - Monroe Reflex - even bigger wow. Third - Michelins (from Gyear RTS)- holy cow dung! This feels like a different truck.
Next I'm getting the sway bar and starting on engine/exhaust as far as I can in California.
I need to have the tranny fixed (no flashing O/D, but is does flare when very cold).
With spending about $3000, I hope I can get another 50,000 out of it.
Athough shortly it will need ball joints, water pump, rotors - and that 3000 will double. Still that is only 12 months of payments on the Tacoma (which would be 48 months of payments)
God I hate cars and trucks.
I love spending money on my boat though. $35,000 for a new Cummins QSB380 h.p. monster that will drive me along at 24 knots and deliver 1.5+ MPG - where do I sign?
I'm sick.
