I saw one today white with the red stripes, Sticker was loaded 25k and change.

I got the same feeling after looking at that car as I did when I saw the ST the first time..

I do mis my 75 Mustang II...

Does any one have a Pic of the new mustang with the 2+2 package???

The dealer would not let me take on in the show room...

Thanks

There is no "2+2 Package" from the factory. It's probably an outrageously overpriced dealer hack job.

When the 1965 mustang came out with the fastback model ( I don't believe that it was available in 1964 as a fast back) it was referred to as a 2+2. There was a 2 door coupe, a convertible and a 2+2 fastback. That may be the designation that the are calling the new fastback. A 1965 coupe with all available options was $2850. And as by coincidence it weighed 2850 pounds with the automatic. This excludes the "poney" option which was not available in the early part of that year. One dollar per pound. How much does a pound cost now?

I love the new Mustang, but I figure my insurance would be more than my house payment when my daughter turns 16. :(

Not A Hack job at all , Different rims, paint, louvers, rear spoiler, different rear wing, ect.

Car looks mint.

The option was only 3K more....

I know all about the older 2+2 options, I just could not find any thing on the Internet about this 2006 one...

Ohh well, I will try elsewhere..

A guy we know has a 1976 Mustang II Cobra II with a 4 speed tranny and a 302. My brother and I were thinking. If we could get it cheap enough, we would love to stick a 351 under the hood with lots and lots of power.

Too bad the owner thinks it is worth $8 grand. Ha Ha.

I think it would be a fun project though.

I doubt it's factory, probably a sticker job with a bunch of add-ons. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Last week I saw a Mustang GT "BOSS" on display in the Ft. Myers, FL airport. A yellow GT to which was added BOSS graphics, shaker hood, window louvers, and 20" wheels.

When I worked at an Olds dealer in 1984 we sold a few stripe package "442's". We'd order a Cutlass Supreme with a V8, console and bucket seats, rallye wheels, and F41 suspension and the Trimline guy would put the decals on. This was because the Hurst/Olds was expensive and limited production and we were lucky to get the two we got. Then in '85 Olds dropped the Hurst/Olds and put all the hot rod goodies minus the funky shifter into a factory 442.

A Ranger SST is another example.

They were a glorified Pinto. I think there is not enough metal to put in a V8 and still have it stay together.

Sorry, not true.

Isn't the Mustang II just a redesigned Pinto?

Only a few of the chassis items such as front wheel spindles, brake discs and brake master cylinder, universal joints and such parts, are common to both Mustang and Pinto. These parts represent approximately just 10% of the total parts which make up Mustang. As a matter of reference, Thunderbird used approximately the same percentage of Torino parts, yet the Thunderbird was not considered a "redesigned" Torino.

They were just a bad dream...

Just in case someone tells you that the Mustang II was not popular, here is a bit of validated trivia. The 1974 Mustang II is the 6th highest selling Mustang to date. It sold more units than any Mustang since 1979 and has only been outsold by 5 different year Mustangs.

Just for refrence...

The Mustang II set a standars for Hot Rods today. A common front suspension for Hot Rods is the front suspension. The Mustang II IFS.

I had a 75 Mustang II that ran 12's on straight motor, a 302 no less. The car held great, Would lift the front wheels when shifting into second. I had a t-5 in it 4:56 8 inch rear, all the goodies..

Your entitled to your opinion, But It would Smoke any thing on the street I ever raced in 5 years of owning that car...

Every one that hated that car for what ever childish reason they had changed their minds 180 degrees after seeing hearing and IF they where lucky I would let them drive it..
