I need to replace my front rotors. I've been pricing some around town and they are not cheap. Even the sales reps are like woo. Some come complete with hub and some don't.

Has anyone had any experience with centric brand rotors? I found a pretty good deal but not sure about quality. Thanks.

Any name brand over the counter is going to be good. You also should replace your bearings and seals as well.. If not to interested in the cross drilled stuff, Try www.rockauto.com. They have good prices. OR even Ebay.

Here's the one I bough on eBay : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-02-Ford-EXPLORER-SPORT-TRAC-Power-Slot-Front-Rotors_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33564QQitemZ8012345939QQtcZphoto

I should receive them today, so I can't tell you if I like them yet...

I am planning on getting carbon pads. Didn't know about bearings & seals. I'll look into that. Might as well; while being there! I also have the feeling that the caliper pistons on the passenger side are not up to par; so I might do that too.

So, I'm looking at spending about 400$ total and be good for another 5 years (except for the pads of course; I'm on my 3rd set.... Stop & Go traffic is horrible in Tampa; people can't pace themself; they find a way to go up to 40 mph with only 3 car lenght ahead of them and then slam the brakes. Good business for pads sellers!

Replacing the wheel bearings and seals only applies to 4X2 Sport Trac's. 4X4's have sealed bearings and are not part of the rotor assembly.

I bought these drilled rotors off of ebay and installed them today. They were $69 + $35s/h. So far so good, no noise, no vibration, and good stopping. I went with Morse ceramic pads only because the shop was out of PFC pads.

You actually put the little metal clips BACK on the studs? So you get to fight with them next time, too? They're only necessary to hold the rotors on at the factory until the wheels are bolted on.

Actually the clips were helpful for keeping the rotor on straight and flush against the hub so I could properly align the caliper support. After prying up the little tabs on the clip with a screwdriver they actually screw on and off fairly easily now.

Spiff, I hear you man. I'm hoping they last too, I wanted the PFC carbon metallics, but they were out, and I was anxious to get the rotors on. I bedded the brakes today, no vibration at all and very nice stopping power. However, I think I might bleed the brakes this weekend though to get the brake pedal a little stiffer.

I looked at my old Raybestos QS pads I just took off and noticed that they were cracked pretty bad. Maybe going ceramic again was a mistake, but I'm giving it one more try.
