This past weekend I treated my trac to new speakers all around. I put 6x8 component MB Quartz in the front and 2 way 6x8s in the back. I'm still running off the stock headunit but I'm probably going to replace that soon. What amps do you recommend? I need a 4 way amp for the doors for now. I also bought 2 10" SMS Earthquake subs that I'm building a box for and will eventually need to get an amp for that once the box is complete. I was thinking JL Audio for the doors and MTX or Rockford for the subs. Comments, suggestions, recommendations...

The JL's are a tad pricier so I figured to push the MB Quartz I wanted a very good quality amp but for the bass I could get away with something less expensive. I've also been hearing a lot of buzz about Memphis amps but have yet to hear or see one. Any experience with those?

I have an audiobahn A800 amp powering my 2 mbquart component systems. they sound freakin awesome! The dynamat helps too.

Memphis amps are pretty freagin sweet but expensive haha

I have experience with both JL and Memphis. Actually those are the only two companies i have ever dealt with in my trac...Both of these are very high quality companies, but JL is a little better. I started off with a memphis 250.1 pushing a JL10w3 in a ported box. That sucker slammed very hard. The memphis 250.1 came to me as the 3rd owner and since i have sold it it has gone to 2 other people and is still hitting just as hard as when i had it! The reason i got rid of it was so that i could go all JL. My front doors have JL Tr coaxials in them running off the head unit with no amp and they sound so amazing. My friend has a set of component some knock off name and i eat them alive in sound quality and loudness. For my sub i now have a JL 12w3v2 in a 1.5 cubic foot subzone being pushed by a JL E1200 and it is louder and hits much harder than the 10 with the memphis. Memphis is priced decently lower than JL but they still put out a great product. Many people tell me JL is overpriced but when they hear my trac they usually accept that its worth the extra money. I would personally recommend memphis and JL and JL moreso if you want to sound the best and spend an extra few bucks!
