After nearly four years and almost 60k miles, I'm finally considering replacing my original Wrangler RT/S's. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm intrigued by the Wrangler Silent Armor, but some message boards warn of reduced MPG. Goodyear's Fortera Silent Armor and Fortera Triple Tread are also options.

Anyone use the Yokohama Geolander HT-S? Or the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV?

Thanks for any advice!!

I am running the Yoko Geolanders and can't say enough about them, especially when compared to the GY RTs. The price of the Silent Armor made them out of the question, plus tirerack rated the Geolander G051s in the top three. Drives like a different truck.

Most of the information I found list the Fortera Silent Armor as the best thing going right now for mostly street use. I think it depends on where you drive your Trac. I hardly ever take mine off-road, so I'm going with the Fortera Silent Armor's when the time comes.

See the thread below for more discussion on this.

for the price and the facts on tire rack the yokahoma HT/S G051 would be my choice...it is my choice when I change them out...I have had excellent results at a fair price with the yokohama brand on past vehicles, and presently on my stang...I will be putting the yok HT/S on my wifes escape this month..she needs tires before I do...

Don't know about your other choices, but I'm really happy with my Michelin.

Effective on water was a main criteria for me.

As a bonus, all the vibrations are gone (had Wranglers before).

69,500 on OEM's... cupped? Yep. Out of round? Oh yeah. Vibrations? Duh.

For me, I'm going with the Wal-Mart Michelin cheapies. I've never had a problem with the cheap stuff from Wal-Mart (except a set of pos Douglas that lasted about 15k miles on my taurus...).

Probably will be getting them this weekend. My wife keeps getting on to me about it. I still have 5-10k left on the OEM's....

RShek,

I've heard good things here about the BFG Long Trails at Wal-Mart. Tire Rack has them at around the middle-lower part of their list.

I'll probably get some Pirelli Scorpion TAs in the next couple of weeks. They run about $30/tire cheaper than the Revos I'll be replacing. The Revos are awesome, but I think they are overkill for the Oklahoma weather conditions. I'm still going back and forth about whether I should spend the extra $120-$130 to stay with Revos.

Ive got the silent armors and I havent noticed any big MPG drop. I love the way they ride.
