Yea, thats just one nasty ars of a weapon! Don't think it was posted before. What I like, is that even if the opposing forces get ahold of one, without the ammunition, they can't use it. I am sure that the rounds are specially designed or adapted to work with the electronic firing mechanism, so the opposition forces can't use our own weapons against us.

And the fact that there are reduced chances of field failures has got to have our forces feeling a little bit better about thier weapons!

Would love to see this go into action, but will wait and see when it does!:smile0011:

I like it. The only problem I see is that these weapons can be reduced to a useless hunk of metal with an Electro-Magnetic Pulse... And if our current enemy (Islamic terrorists) get their hands on nuke technology, they wouldn't hesitate to detonate one.

Not to worry, our government will help them out. They always do.

I have the same Q as TT. Are the electronics secure from an EMP.

Other wise I need one of those pistols.:smile0006:

Pretty cool.

Though I have a question about the reloading--it isn't shown, so how do you do it?

It can fire thousands of rounds right quick, but you have to get the rounds in there first.

Right now, it reminds me of the original Gatling Gun--revolutionary firepower for the era, but massively restricted in its potential by reload speed. Do you have to open the back and ram in a stick of bullets? Do you have to twist the stick in from the muzzle, like a ultramodern muzzle loader? A long stick of 9mm seems far less convenient than an actual magazine to me.

Also, what happens when you run out of battery power? Gas powered and recoil powered, shoot, even bolt-action guns all use energy that is easily provided by the firing of the weapon or the person shooting it--if the battery dies, unless the soldier in iraq brought extra AAAs, that could be a problem.

The gun itself seems pretty cool, but I'm leery of all this "smart technology" linking up to make a warzone internet, and ultimately replace soldiers with robotics :( Puts a whole new level of risk into it...then again, it makes computer experts more valuable, and also, in the era of vintage military intelligence, famous battles like Midway were largely won by coincidence.

Ya, we will probably be equiping the Iraq and Afgahnistan armies with this new technology so they can use it on us later.
